55 people attended our Annual General Meeting, held on 29 September 2011 at the Alma Lodge hotel in Stockport.

Presentations were given by:

  • Chairman, Michael Greenwood
  • Chief Executive, Richard Popplewell
  • Chief Finance Officer, Gary Jones

who gave members of the public an overview of the work undertaken by NHS Stockport over the past year, progress made, key issues, and how the local NHS budget was spent.

Given the changes happening in the NHS, informationwas also given on:

  • the financial challenge ahead and our Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) plans
  • local plans for the move to GP-led Clinical Commissioning.

Members of the public were asked to give their suggestions on potential changes we could make over the next year to make savings.

Why We Are Consulting

The NHS is changing.

Locally, Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group has been made a Pathfinder, setting the standards for the new NHS structure.

We want to ensure that patient views are at the heart of the decisions taken by the new group.

What Happens Next

Views will be used by Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group to help prioritise local health funding.
